Hello All,
I am currently in the market for a website.
The website will be the shop window of my business and is to be part e-commerce and part quotation request for bespoke products and customisation of standard products. The number of standard products will be between 700 to 1,000.
The site will have a lot of standard functions but some areas (I have been told) will have to be custom built (e.g. client area with the facility to release part orders and a quote request filter that will filter out the relevant combinations so that the user can quickly request a quote on the products that they are looking for). It also needs to be scalable and responsive.
I also require a CRM & Order Management functionality (I don't understand enough about web design / development enough to understand if these would have to be separate from the website or if they can be built in to it...). I have seen "Pipelinersales" which is a CRM system and Order Harmony which is an order management system, both of which I like the look of.
I would also like to take orders and payments online and over the phone.
The companies that have come back to me with a quote have suggested a Magento platform (great for CMS and inexperienced users (i.e. myself)) and their price for the work to be completed is not cheap (which I would understand. I have been quoted 6 to 8 weeks for the time it would take to build the site). Payments would be a third down as a deposit to commission the work and the rest payable upon completion. Price also includes a couple of hours training on using the CMS.
Does anyone know of any companies out there that would build a bespoke site but would take monthly payments or is there any other alternatives such as leasing companies (which i have just heard about, not had the chance to look into that yet but if i've been advised that I need bespoke functions then this may not be the answer)?
I don't really want a "build it yourself" website where you chose a template and away you go.
I'm not that technical when it comes to building websites but any response back in layman terms would greatly be appreciated.
I look forward to hearing form you.
Kind Regards
Martin
