Partnership programme

Hello all,

I have had an idea to get my web development, graphic design & VA services business out there in this highly competitive sector by partnering up with some B2B businesses that could refer their clients/customers to me. Not too many as I would like to form a close long term partnership with each one so they can come to me when they need something and I could go to them. Some appropriate sectors would be accountants, leaflet distributors, printers, suppliers, etc.

The offer would be to build out a free/heavily discounted website (also building up my portfolio) but having part of the site advertising my services or redirecting to my website + commission on successful business 15-20%.

My question is have any of you tried this method before, has it been successful and what are your thoughts on it?

Thanks

Why would I want to promote your business to my clients @elnce I know nothing about the quality of your service/expertise/experience? If I wanted a graphic designer I would go to an experienced, qualified graphic designer, the same for a web developer. I wouldn't use a VA .

And no, I wouldn't want to have advertising for your business on my website and have no requirement for you to build me a website.

Yes companies do partner/cross-refer where there is a synergy ie printers and designers, PR and marketing people, solicitors and accountants. Quite often this is done where there is an existing relationship of trust.

Why not sound out a few businesses at business networking events and test your idea out.
