Hi.
I apologise in advance of any one being offended, this is way off topic - but I hope there are some bods here with specific knowledge as opposed to guesswork and assumption.

If one receives a Parking Charge Notice (private land, not council), there are a lot if rules and deadlines for both sides.

I appealed against a Charge, on a technicality, and their (Highview) acknowledgment says that they aim to respond within 10 days, and certainly within 35 - there is also an additional note to say they arre busy, so do not keep writing to check. it has now been 39 days since they acknowledged receipt, but there has been no further contact. I have tried everything that I can think of, short of phoning (I dont want to phone, and cannot find a number, anyway) and cannot find an answer.

Question: Is there a maximum time allowed for this, or can they take forever?

Thanks

This is my specific industry.

Highview are members of the British Parking Association and either have to respond within 35 days or send you a second email to explain that they will not respond in this time, why and when they will reply.

Drop and email to [email protected] with a brief overview and they will investigate the matter as it is a breach of the code of practice.

Also dont pay any attention to people who confuse themselves and others with varying terms of fine, invoice, fpn, pcn or any other array of terms.

The parking charge notice is NOT an invoice indeed it is a notice to driver (or more likely as highview only do ANPR an Notice to Keeper) as defined in the Protection of Freedoms Act 2012. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/2012/9/schedule/4/enacted

Brilliant. Thank you. TBH, I have resorted to a few forums to try to get an answer, and all I have had are guesses, ideas, responses to questions that I did not ask, and just plain wrong answers . Fortunately, I have looked into this a lot over the last couple of months, so am a little clued up, but could not find that particular info.
I will get in touch over the next couple of days.

Thank you so much
