Hi
Im trying to get prices out of my account manager (its like getting blood out of a stone)

We have a price for our current amount of dispatches £4.90 (3200 p.a) but we dispatch loads of parcels via royal mail that weigh about 1kg - 1.5kg

Can anyone eithr post or pm me with their figure of what they pay for 5000 or whatever the next levels are

I would be very grateful

Thanks Geoff

Hi

Thanks Geoff

We use Royal Mail Online Business Account (Packet post) for our lighter parcels. We pay the following:

1 - 1.25 Kg £2.73
1.25 - 1.5Kg £3.11
1.5 - 1.75 Kg £3.47
1.75 - 2Kg £3.85

Those are for first class (which is all we use) - its a little cheaper for 2nd class.

The actual cost is based on the average weight of the sack.

Hope that helps

Jeff

You say you send 3200 pa, for an online business account you need to send 5000 - if you say you doing more business and will do 5000pa they'll accept you. As long as you get close to 5000pa (and I would say 3,200pa is close) you should be able to stay on it.

Basically anything under 2kg - use a RoyalMail Account.

Upto 30kg I think, we pay just over £6 + VAT and surcharge - no minimum amount per week etc. Good so far.

The best price i know of is DPD - £4.50 + etc. However you need to do some good turnover.

There are loads of companies out there and probably a better than ParcelForce and DPD etc - which is great. But when things go wrong it is a real hassle - u pay for what you get. We are happy to pay that little more and have more peace of mind.

I know friends who use a 3rd party website to get cheapest deals - but they ad things go missing and it took ages to chase.

I have been using Parcelforce for about 5 years now. No real probs at all with the actual task of delivery parcels. Dreadful customer service and rates are quite high now compared to what other carriers will offer you.

Parcelforce can offer some good rates for the Euro 48 service and the large parcel service but for smallish stuff uder 10kgs we now use City link.

Parcelforce account managers are generally not worth wasting your time with. The odd one or two are good but most I have come accross are useless. Claims proceedure is an utter farce too.
