Paper vs Electronic Records

Hi all,

I wonder if any accounting gurus can help with a simple question?

Would it be acceptable if I scanned in all my tax year paperwork and stored it encrypted online and encrypted on my NAS and shredded the paper copies.

I’m currently downsizing/minimalising in lieu of moving and am trying to reduce my possessions and environmental footprint.

Would electronic “paperwork” satisfy HMRC if I was ever audited.
