Paper round laws

Looking for some advice, Ive been running traditional coronership for the last two years and always avoided paper rounds as was advised they are more hassle then they are worth by the previous owner who had been in the shop for 10 years.

That said, I was thinking I need to do some marketing and leaflet dropping and a lad with a good attitude popped in to ask about a paper round. From what he said he'd been to a few shops looking for work and I liked that he had a bit of good attitude here with regards to getting off his rear and trying to make something happen for himself.

So I asked him to come back with a guardian or a parent, he came back with both parents. We had a chat and I agreed that I find a way to build him up a round or get him leaflet dropping or something.

So can someone explain the laws to me here regarding paper rounds etc? minimum age? etc?

Cheers

thanks that's really useful.

So with regards to the context of the below. If the lad does a weekly paper round mon-sat every week, does he need to have at least 21 days off as per below?

  • Children under 16 must have at least 21 days off work during the summer holidays.

Thanks
