To the Hands On Group:

Given the principal market for your product, I would like to ask for some advice.

My company offers interactive online courses in business communication. Recently, I have been training a number of instructors in anticipation of growing the business. I'm a real stickler for quality, so it's taking time to identify the right people and to instill in them our personal approach to training.

As I searched for suitable candidates for the role of instructor, it came to mind that this role is ideal for professionals who are physically handicapped in some way. While there is a lot of interaction in our virtual classroom, and the social dimension of our classes is important, the work requires no physical activity other than typing at a keyboard.

Taking this thought one step further, the role of instructor is one that could be fulfilled by members of the deaf community. With the exception of using Skype as one of our communication options, nothing about our online learning environment requires the ability to hear.

I have spent some time trying to find the best way to reach disabled communities but with limited success. Can you recommend a way for me to offer job opportunities to this particular audience?

Also, consistent with our company's core values, we want to help the disabled population by offering a substantial discount on our courses. I have read that 70 percent of disabled persons in the US are in need of a job; this statistic is probably valid in other countries. In our small way, we'd like to do something to help this disadvantaged group. If we simply publish a promotional code, our offer could be misused by others. How would you recommend that we reach only disabled people with our offer?

Many thanks.

Steve
