.org vs .net

If I am setting up a web site for Affiliate Marketing to provide life insurance quotes and the .com or .co.uk are not available should I choose.org or .net?

It matters not. Some people will prefer one, some the other. .org sometimes seems a little more bona fide.

If you are selling something online then go with .net.

If its general free information site .org is fine.

I think you must choose the domain name according to your business.
If you are selling online something go with .net domain.
if you are sharing some free information go with .org.

It's not just sharing free information though as the extension is generally used for organisations (the hint is in the word):

customers arent going to give two hoots about the 'rules' with domain extensions........ ooooh its a .org, thats supposed to be information, I better not buy anything from it as its not a .net

.org.uk work quite well when it comes to ranking off a exact match domain (emd)
