Or just look online at any large retailer ...download
their terms & conditions & the use "search & replace" !!!

Although this sounds simplistic, the reality is that it is a LOT better than nothing. And gets you on the road. And the reality is that the number of times you will be using your T's and C's is hopefully very, very few, unless your business goes profoundly wrong. And more often than not, accepting a return is more a matter of pragmatism than quoting terms.

A point on accommodating your suppliers returns policies. To some extent, that is not relevant. If a supplier does not accept returns from you, you cannot use that to avoid accepting them from a customer. You are bound by distance selling regs - they are not. You are B to C. They are not.

What type of stuff are stuff are you selling

If cheaper end it is often not worth getting bogged down with things like this

Instead you need to think in a different way

If you dont take an item back that is faulty and the customer thinks you are being unfair - then you will have lost them for life
Whereas if you look after them they will love you for it and keep on spending with you

But sometimes you just have to say no - some customers really will think they can return worn stuff after even a year
You dont want these type of people so say no and if they say they wont spend with you again then be polite but pleased - let them go and make someone elses life a misery and help destroy their business

If you are unsure then go on the side of the customer
You wont in the long term regret it

And I would say always and upfront offer a refund
Again it improves the customer relationship and turns them into a repeat customer - rather than one that thinks well I wont bother buying from there again because when there is a problem ...

It doesn't need to be complicated. We have shops, this is our policy:

"Returns :
If for any reason you wish to return an item, bring it back within 30 days in its original unopened packaging with your purchase receipt and we will exchange it for something else, or offer you a credit note in the form of gift vouchers to the full value. Refunds are not offered unless goods are faulty.

Please bear in mind that will have to resell the item you return. We won't be able to sell something if it has been squashed or has obviously been previously sold. If you are unsure about a purchase, why not consider a gift voucher instead, we sell them in £5, £10 and £20 denominations, and have a nice range of cards to go with them."

Not had an issue in the last 6 years.
