Hi
following on from a previous post I have decided to host my own ecommerce site, we are currently using bteshops using epages and I find the limitations frustrating however the contract runs until the end of May.
I have looked at other hosted solutions and tbh I am not keen on the templates etc
I have reasonable technical knowledge and plan to host and run a test site until the bt contract comes to an end. I have just purchased a medium plan with vidahost plus a .net domain and plan to gradually transfer various domains etc from 1&1 and the main bt domain to them over time
I have looked at the three most popular shopping carts prestashop, magento and opencart and at the moment opencart seems to fit my requirements for ease of use and add on modules.
before I start to invest lots of time on opencart can anyone tell me if it is already set up or has reasonably priced extensions to accept paypal & worldpay payments. We use worldpay with our current site
where the customer is taken to the worldpay secure portal to make payments which suits me fine in terms of pci dss requirements.
I noticed that the prestashop add on for this was £175 and magento had a free "junior" creditcard version and another for around £375
naturally if opencart has it allready available I will save money where I can as we are not switching from streamline/rbs worldpay for a while due to contracts
thanks
will
