I use Plus.net and think they're fantastic. Have been with Claranet, Freeserve, BT and Plus have been fantastic.

Just had a quick look. Seems that it is a proxy server that compresses content and then their software decompresses it on your PC. Whether it's worth £24-99/year I would doubt, or everyone would be using it.

Remember you will still need an internet connection from another provider.

I also have accounts with Plusnet, though I'm not sure for how much longer. There is an interesting story about business connections from Plusnet here.

Much depends on exactly what you use your connection for. ATM my most important use is nightly backups via VPN to an offsite server, and that's working fine, but if you read that thread there is at least one person who is having trouble with that.

OnSpeed is minty, actually. Although I'm usually on BTBB, I've a crappy old dialup account for when I'm staying with mates or my mum and dad. OnSpeed speeds it up no end. Apparently if you use it with a really fast (>8mb) connection from Bulldog or similar it brings up the page you want virtually before your fingers touch the keyboard. However, I think the primary markets they're aiming at are people who are using dialup for whatever reason and people who are doing a *lot* of downloading.

Ive got BT Broadband as well and find it dips quite a lot at peak times!

Had major problems with plus.net in the past when they had a "reasonable use" clause in their "unlimited" account - and i was only using it for browsing and chatting, no significant downloading.

Have been with http://www.demon.net for several years and never had any problems at all.
