Of course on-page SEO is not dead

On-Page factors are relatively easy to control and manage and as such tend to be the starting point when it comes to optimising a page/site. I don't think anyone would think about trying to get a page to rank without making sure the on-page optimisation was up to scratch first.

PS, still waiting for you confirm your statement that nofollow links are the same as dofollow links.

According to Google (Remember Mark?) the natural backlink profile of an website would include balanced amount of do-follow and no-follow links. And again we had lot of projects where we was able to hit first page with only one NO-follow link which of course was coming from website with around 30DA/PA. So yes , no-follow links have if not the same then pretty similar to dofollow links weight.
