Online shopping

Hi everyone
I'm about to start my online shopping business by selling clothes, shoes etc.
My idea is get stuff ( clothes, shoes) from different shops and then re-sale it in " my online shop" is that even legal process?
Been looking threw network about licenses what you need to open business like this but really can't find nothing
Maby here is some one who is doing this kind of business and can give me few tips ?

It's legal but the problem with that is that you might not be able to buy stuff cheap enough to be able to sell it for a big enough markup to make enough money. But maybe you can?

You need to buy from wholesalers to have any chance of making a profit but this will involve buying in larger quantities and holding stock which obviously means more investment.

I know is not the best idea to resale stuff
All what it is I want open my kind of business, I've got money for start but idea is the biggest problem what I'm struggling with been doing loads of research in network but nothing really pop up

It would be impossible to make money reselling from shops in the way you suggest.

You will need to buy stock from wholesalers in order to have sufficient margin.

You will need to decide which brands you can/want to sell, and you will need to secure supplies for those brands.

Whilst doing that, you will need to consider getting a website built. The top end brands will want to see your website before they agree to supply you. Cheaper brands will be less fussed, of course.

You will need to arrange online payment facilities. You will need to decide on whether you will stock items yourself, or use dropshipping arrangements/

That is just a few tips, but certainly not enough to get you started. If you have no retail experience, I would strongly recommend you talk to someone you know and trust about what is actually involved.

Your other problem is that you wouldn't be allowed to use the manufacturer's or retailer's photos.

If the stuff were so easy to sell then the original retailer - with all the avenues already open to them - would have sold it. The idea is a total non-starter IMO.

You might have problems with buying from retailers and selling online if you were constantly going into the same shop and buying large quantities of goods. They could refuse to sell them to you as they could be annoying their suppliers by doing so and as a result could risk losing a supplier.

As to whether you could make a profit in doing what you plan to do, that is another matter. I think some people can make a profit by doing this. I think there have been threads before where people have been boasting about making money on ebay by buying in shops and selling online. It seems counter intuitive to do so, but many people now perhaps just bypass the high street and go automatically to the internet and they might not be too aware of prices in the bricks and mortar shops.

After sales service might be difficult as well and you might not be able to get replacements easily as you will not be able to have a business relationship with a supplier or a manufacturer.

Try The affiliate marketing or become an Affiliate associate from the Amazon and some other platform or just you can start with blogging or creating ebooks and sell it according to your pricing.

One of the ways people work in this space is to purchase end of line clothing and market / sell that. Much in the same way that TK Max works, smaller retailers can sometimes find they can make a business out of this by buying bundles of clothing at very cut down prices then reselling it. Another is to buy current items from wholesalers.

Clothing comes with a lot of issues though. Variations are one - you will need to hold many SKUs in order to sell "one" T-shirt line for example. Think sizes. What will you do when your main sizes have run out? How will you shift the final 3 or 4 items? What about seasonality? And fashion? What stock are you going to get left with? There are lots of blog posts out there that will take you through the pitfalls. Read them carefully and make a plan.

As with all ventures you need to make sure you know and understand the market you operate in and the costs involved so you can properly calculate your margins.

For an idea of what to sell start with your own interests, your own passions. Then research it thoroughly.
Clothing and shoes have the problem of returns online - lots of returns simply from not fitting, returns after item is worn for whatever evening, weekend or week.
Wander round your local markets. Wander the local shops. See what others are selling and see what they stock.

What you do not want is to spend all your time trying to source stock and not making enough to cover your bills.
You can spend thousands on stock - and have few sales with a large chunk returned. Making little or no money.

Do not get me wrong online selling can be rewarding. If you do not mind 100 plus hour weeks you could with the right stock make some good money. Or with a couple of hours a week make some good money. How you do it is down to you.

It's hard to see why people would buy from you as your prices would surely inevitably be higher than the shop you bought them from.

If the goods are niche products and the shops don't already sell online (very rare) then it could be a goer as you'd basically be the online side of that business, and you could partner with those stores. To look at that another way you would be offering the shops a risk-free way of selling their stuff online.
