Hey everyone,

We run an online multivendor platform within the sporting industry, we are continually adding parts to the site to increase traffic and revenue.

One thing we are going to add in May is a section where we will raffle off products, I am sure you have all seen them online where you basically answer a basic question and then buy a ticket number. If that number is drawn once sold out then you win the product for the price of the ticket. Pretty straight forward, this wont be the main part on our site so we will probably do one or two lower value (sub £500) weekly draws and then one main one per month. Its a great way to increase traffic to the site and of course additional revenue.

My reason for coming here is to see if there is an off the shelf software we could use for this, if not we can get it custom made but will be a bit more time consuming.
Also if anyone on here does this how do you keep record of the ticket numbers?

For example we sell 500 tickets on a product, these ticket numbers then need to go on an excel or similar spreadsheet so we can keep track of the name & ticket number for when we do the live draw. Is there a way to automate this from checkout?
We use CS Cart for our platform.

Legally we have looked in to it briefly and as long as we do it as a game of skill no gambling license is needed, we will get this checked properly prior to launch.

Have you spoke to CS Cart to see if there are any pre-existing plugins for this? WooCommerce has several if you are open to using a separate checkout for the Raffle. You'll need to check if it is within the terms of your existing merchant agreement (or seek an alternative)

Its sounds quite exciting to me but I do get carried away with these things .This is probably fueled at the moment by my starvation of boxing and rugby :)

We have actually been approached recently by a potential client looking to do exactly this. We did a fair bit of research into the off the shelf plugins for WooCommerce and Shopify to see if we could match the requirements. Sadly none of the off the shelf versions did exactly what they needed in terms of setting dates or extending the raffle if not enough tickets were sold etc. We investigated a bespoke solution which proved to be suitable but the gaming commission regulations meant that the client struggled to get access to a payment gateway. I am happy to have a chat around this if you like? Let's face it we have all got time on our hands at the moment!
