What type of adult site is it?Hi just stubbled across your posting on ukbusinessforum re adult site payment systems. I am trying to find a payment services solution for my adult site, did you find one suitable? If so can you recommend one.
Thanks Jon
Plus as the owner of the company you must live outside the UK.You need to be very careful about accepting payments in the UK for Adult on demand hardcore videos. A recent ruling involving Liverpool Trading Standards resulted in a website owner being prosecuted and getting a hefty fine. He was an affilliate of Strictly Broadband.
Put simply, the UK laws do not allow anyone in the UK to sell hardcore materials online or offline without a licence as a sex shop and even then only R18 materials can be sold and must be collected. I have been trying to find legal ways around this for over a year now. The minute the money is transacted in the UK or a DVD is placed in the UK postal system, you commit an offence.
Anyone can transact outside of the UK and post DVDs into to UK from abroad which is terribly unfair. So in order to comply with the law, you must have your servers aboroad, your point of sale abroad, your banking systems abroad and also everything to do with your company must be abroad. You cannot even legally act as an affilliate site when operating from within the UK.
I Just thought I would clarify the legal position because most people seem to be unaware of it. Personally I would be happy to work with anyone who can find legal ways around it.
