Online Or Offline

Hi Guys,

Just a quick and (hopefully) quite simple question on which kind of training you prefer:

1) Offline - Held at a specific time and location, a full days workshop on a specific subject, usual cost around £250-£300. However it's much more interactive as you can have 1-on-1 discussion with your trainer.

2) Online - Can be completed at your own pace, usual cost around £80-150. Less interactive, but possibly more convenient.

I know many people prefer the classroom aspect of offline training, so I just wondered what the general concensus was here?

Thanks.

As an accountant I have to do CPD each year to keep up to date on various tax matters etc and use a combination of training courses/lectures.

Sometimes its good to get out of the office for a day and give it 100% concentration on a certain topic, and meet up with a few fellow accountants etc.

But online training is also good saving on travelling and hassle and it can be a bit cheaper.

So for me a bit of both:)

As usual Nicola is spot on (typical woman - always right ;)) ... I'm going to get splinters on my backside, sit on the fence and say for me a mix of the two suits me best.

Well thank you Andrew - those sound like the words of a married man:D:D

PS The fence is a good place:)

Depends... some training programs work better in an offline group setting e.g. skill based training such as management or assertiveness training. As previously stated, less distractions and provides time for a team to bond and learn from one another.

For more specialised training or course-based traning - there are considerable benefits to online.
