Other than the normal places ( Linked in, Facebook,, Twitter etc ) Id suggest you simply try and find places that talk about your sector.

    Reply and use a signature.

Another thing you can do is use "google alerts" and google will email you when a new search entry had been indexed with your keywords.

You can then follow it and see what competitors are actually doing!

there is a comapamy called speed networking events, you meet up to 25 businesses at a time 2-3 times a week and the sessions only last a couple pf hours, its 25 pounds per session but undoubtedly some good business to be had there

Nice concept fusing traditional business networking with speed dating... but it wont work. These are a silly replacement for usual coffee mornings etc. and networking events. Unless the businesses are all potential suppliers etc. its a wasted opportunity.

You end up doing extended elevator pitches to like-minded entrepreneurs in a different field to you and even to competitors. There is little value to speed business networking unless its vetted and fixed, beyond the whole idea of it all.

At one end of the scale... someone running a bakery is pitching to someone making horse saddles and vice versa. At the next, one consultancy is pitching against another consultancy in the same sector... if you are bad at such pitch you will do fine, if you sell your business so well, they are likely to pinch it. If you really have no clue who the other person is and go first it can be a fatal mistake.

I am sure it builds up confidence... but nothing much more value than that.

    Hi SafeClean,

As previously mentioned a great way to grow awareness for any business (large or small), is by using business-related social networking sites such as LinkedIn; or general social networking sites such as Twitter. However, theses sites can be difficult and time consuming when trying to build up awareness and exposure for a new business.

If these sites interest you I could offer you a very affordable service that would help your business vastly grow a presence on the above social networking sites, and help you connect with many thousands!

Please feel free to PM me to discuss matters further!
