Online Food Ordering Website Help Please

I am looking at different ways to expand my business we are currently looking at going nationwide with what we do (separate to the above).

I am looking to do a version of "just eat" on a smaller scale (locally at first) with some added extras.

I have been looking at this version below:

Can anyone here help me build on top from what is offered in that package? as we have little added extras that we would like to add on but others do not include and what do you think about the package offered?

I am not sure how much you know about the Just Eat business model, but it is VERY successful..

The biggest gripe however I hear from the people using it is the % commissions that are charged to the businesses that have signed up for it, and the time it takes for them to be paid..

If you think Merchant account charges are unreasonable check out what Just Eat charge..

Good luck and I hope you come up with a good alternative, but you will need to think carefully about how much you charge for the service if you want to win people away from the Incumbent..

We have got Cardsave in place for payments etc and they have done a really good deal on the processing,

I spoke the idea with 1 takeaway owner and we have had 29 establishments asking to sign up so the response has been good so far, our start up cost are half than just eat which included a deposit for equipment and also our commissions are around half compared to Just Eat,

But we also have additional services we can provide something that the big ones cannot,

We tried speaking to all the major companies i.e Just Eat, Takeaway.com Hungryhouse, to try and work our services in with their website no response from them whatsoever so we have decided to go it alone

I recommend you to study Turkish Take Away website Yemek Sepeti Their website, ordering system is excellent and it has been used in study cases many times. It'll give you ideas about what modules and categories you should use on your website.

In regards to packs, extras, i think you need to speak to restaurants itself to find out what their menu is and what they offer etc.. I don't think the link you would build here will be a healthy list.

Suggest you speak to these guys, they do all sorts of wacky website gluing and take old/proprietary systems and make them talk to web apps very well.

I've seen number of websites for small takeaway businesses with online order facility, but to be honest 99% of them are all provided by 3rd party. The development cost and maintenance fees will be too high to do it on your own. Then once you join the big major brands - you'll get your name out to smaller local web directories as well - they all feed of them. I think going online is definitely the smart choice - more and more people these days use apps or websites.

There's 3 big online takeaway websites as far as I know - the rest are there, but Just-Eat, HungryHouse and Takeaway.com scoops the most orders and then there's Dominos and Pizzahut delivery services on top to compete... It's a competitive market out there already

I cant see how this type of business will ever be fully sustainable, I used HungryHouse only when they give a 20% discount but the seller on each occasion, they give us there menu and the driver always says call it through you will get better dishes and better prices.

Its always going to be that way, and I think for food I would most of the time prefer to order it over the phone than online, I do like the online option, but everytime I done it, the guy that turns up at the door sways us away from it.
