Online Filing of Dormant Accounts

I am having problems submitting Dormant Company Accounts online at Companies House, can any one help please?

In the 1st Trading Year the Balance Sheet of the company was as follows:

Fixed Assets (Tangible): £433
Current Assets (Cash at Bank): £46
Creditors Amount Due within 1 year: (£476)
Net Current Liabilities: (£430)
Total Assets less Current Liabilities: £3

Net Assets:

Capital & Reserves:
Allotted, Called up & Fully Paid Share Capital (1,000 Ordinary Shares @ £1 each): 1,000
P&L Account: (£997)

Shareholders Fund: £3

The company had no transactions during the 2nd Year of Trading, hence one of the reasons for making it Dormant now.

I enter the following information at the appropriate Area at Companies House online:

Accounts
Having confirmed the Date of Balance Sheet is correct and GBP is selected

Current Period £ Previous Period £

Called up share Capital not paid 0 0
Cash at bank & in hand 46 46

Which automatically suggests

Net Asset 46 46

I have then input the following:

Issued share capital

Number of shares 1000
Select or enter a share class: Ordinary
Value of each share 1
Current Period: 1000
Previous Period: 1000

When submitting the Accounts I get this error: The 'Shareholders' fund' must be equal to the 'Net assets'

The requirement and solution seems to be simple, but clearly, I am doing something wrong, please help.

If there have been no transactions during the year then the balance sheet at the end of year 2 would be exactly the same as the balance sheet at the end of year 1. If there have been any transactions such as payment of creditors then the company is not dormant - it may be non trading but that is not the same as dormant.

In any case the Companies House template for online filing of dormant company accounts is only for use by companies which have never traded so you will need to complete the audit exempt abbreviated accounts template.
