One page sites anyone?

Does anyone make 1 page sites?
Do you sell domain with them and link it all up?
Would that include logo banner at the top and space for text, links on right?
How much would you charge for one of these?

So for example like elffancydress.co. uk

If i have around 50 sites all linking back to mine with different content is this better or worse than buying backlinks? Or does it all count?

Thanks
Gemma

My wife has done us a holding page whilst she constructs our site. She designed our logo and has also added a pdf link to a page that details what we're all about, sounds ideal for what you are looking for. Check it out businesswisesolutions.co.uk ( mods please edit this if you deem it to be advertising my site )

I suspect pretty much any designer/developer will do it - it's just a matter of cost!

We charge based on time, so a simple site taking an hour or so isn't going to be too expensive (special hosting deal available for small sites).

You'd need to register a domain separately (or at least pay separately for one, anyway). Feel free to give me a shout for more info?

I'd be interested to hear if anyone thought this tactic would be useful in terms of SEO, or is it simply 50 dead end sites with no authority on google, with little worth in terms of SEO....especially if you're paying for each one to be developed?

You've answered your own question there mate :)

Anyone who takes money off this naive and misguided person should be utterly ashamed of themselves.

It works to a limited effect, however you really need to have each domain on a different server and totally original content with a mixture of aged domains for it to really work IMO.

Now that is not going to be a cheap or quick fix and you may as well just promote your sites on other sites (owned by other people)

Also google may or may not decide you are spamming if not done correctly.

A few years ago I had a few online shops (well 6) and I had a site that had details and links to all the online shops, and it did work to some level of success, so just do it with one domain not 50.

Hi Gemma

Looking at your elf fancy dress site, the first thing I notice is that you're directing the reader away with adsense links, but at the same time you're clearly trying to promote your main site. My advice would be to get rid of the adsense, and make all ads point to your main site instead.

Buy a domain and hosting with Fantastico and this will give you the option to install Wordpress in a few simple clicks.

You can then add any plug-ins such as SEO ones or the thousands of others to choose from, they are also loads of free themes you can use for different genres.

As its a blog CMS you can add your own (unique) content easily too through posts and pages giving yourself more chance of Google liking your site.

Don't buy a 1 page hard-coded "site". If you use my method its minimal cost, you can change the look an dfeel to suit and update it!

Here is a simple WP site I set up YogaPilates.me which the owner now updates herself.

Good luck

Only use a one page website as an landing page for a promotion or offer. For example, you have an adwords advert with a great offer, you will need to point the visitor who clicks onto the advert to the landing page which has the offer in more detail and a method to purchase.

Other than that a one page website are a complete wast of time for a business website, you need more pages, contact page, about, etc...
