On site ideas

I'm going to have a look at a friends site this week and was wondering what others thought would be the best things to do on site. I've only got a couple of hours to do the whole thing so I can't go crazy.

They are tagetting the local (stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire) are and specialise in wedding and portrait photography. Any hints on the priorities (ie what will move the site up most!) would be great.

I would work on the metatags of the website and avoid too much flash on the home page.

Some of the very basic elements like Alt tags for images, use of H1, H2 etc... if it is targeted location then actually having the area named in more places than just the contact us.... replace the images of text with actual text etc

Lose the music,
put the address (stoke on trent) in the footer of every page.
Localise the site in google webmaster tools.
ensure unique title tags on every page.
look at relevant H1 & H2 tags.
Bring in lightbox for the gallery, bring the gallery forward I found it difficult to find - the info link and page numbers didnt make it obvious that was where it was going.

That's what I would do anyway

Thank you all for the tips! I will be tackeling the title tags first, making them individual to each page and loaded with the keywords. I have a good few months data from adwords plus I've backed it up with keyword discovery. I need to look into H1 tags, I've not used them for such a long time but I know they are important. Alt tags again, I'll put them up too. Putting the address in the footer is a great tip, thanks for that.
