Looking at starting an on line flooring company, selling carpets mainly, its been done a few times but only in a big way, and I want to put a new twist to it.

My biggest problem I have thought about is the delivery to the customers house as carpets are at 4 or 5m wide and heavy. EG a 7.70mx 5m carpet I supplied last week weight 113kg.
I need a flat rate but have no quantities as of yet. There are ebay sellers who offer delivery at around £20 which I can only assume is a national wholesaler selling direct as they have there own delivery lorries.

One of my wholesalers have said that they will deliver anywhere I request but the delivery note states all my account details etc, This may be a problem I can get around but I underlay would need delivering which they would do but a standard roll is 11m long (15 sq mts) so I would need to send the correct amount needed for the carpet.

Only an idea at this stage as still considering a local local shop, but this seems to be a bigger risk.(see my other thread shop or not shop)
thanks
