Offline promotion of ecommerce store

Blue Steel

Just wondering if anyone has had any wins with using the likes of flyers, billboards, sunday markets, sign written van, banner in a field ect. to raise awarness of their ecommerce site.

No doubt it will depend on the product, but I've launched a site selling carpet underlay recently, and on top of all the online i wondered if I might be missing a trick with tactics normally associated with traditional retail.

Not really in my opinion. I'm sure you'd get some joy with it if you throw enough time/money at it but it's more difficult to track your return. If you have more resource to use on promoting your store I would dedicate that to online promotion to be honest

ecommerce promotion strategy use both offline and online media to accomplish a companies goals and objectives. The marketing plan is the basic document that contains a companies marketing strategy. It should contain a detailed synopsis of the marketing channels to be used, budgetary considerations and the standard benchmarks to be used to measure the effectiveness of the marketing effort.

These were agricultural shows and the stall matched the online shop with a wide range of products

It was a perfect start point - people who had bought or who were interested in buying there stuff

He had expected good follow on trade - but it was not to be

Now just does the online but is finding himself squeezed by competition

I have tried most real World marketing from consumer surveys in high streets to ads in industry magazines to telesales.

The only time real World marketing has worked for one of our online retail businesses has been attending niche events. We used to have an aromatherapy business and attending some of the smaller healthcare and holistic events worked well - they didn't result in a profit on the day but brand awareness certainly helped over time.

Otherwise, unless you have very deep pockets I would stick to online marketing.
