I recently received a letter from Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited advising me of a possible debt I owe Parking and enforcement. What is strange is that they use my first name as my business trading name and last name with my last name and sending it to my business address.

What confuses me is that my car is registered to my home address and not my business so I would expect that letter coming to my home not my business. Also I am not aware of getting any previous letters.

They offer me to pay or they will take legal actions within 14 days

What would be the best course of action here?
Can they take legal action again me with half my last name and company as first name ?

Direct Collection Bailiffs Limited (DCBL) 'Infamous' for the Channel 5 Programme "Can't Pay We'll Take it Away!" (Companies House information is somewhat 'Enlightening' if you have followed the series) Is the Debt for a Fixed Penalty Notice, or Parking Charge Notice (Private Parking Space)? Presumably, there has not been any County Court Action yet?

If they are from private car park then
I have had about five of these over the years and they just walk away
I had one with a mistake on it and was ready to go toe to toe but they will only pick on the vulnerable
If it is from the council and issued by a court then you should take immediate action

I can confirm it is from those clowns from Chanel 5, they even printed the tv show logo and one of their faces on their notice. Apparently the initial amount was £100 which in NI must be a private parking notice. Normally £90 from city council. There is no relation between my car and my business so not sure where they got all the information from and sending a letter to my business. My idea is to wait and see if they take it to court and prepare my defence than. But as mentioned before I never received anything from them.

And what really confuses me is since I am in Northern Ireland I found out that you don’t need to worry about bailiffs - there aren’t any in Northern Ireland. The letter is probably from a debt collection company outside Northern Ireland. Their bailiffs aren’t allowed to work here.
Why would they use such a service if they cant work here.

Its really strange. They've somehow managed to put 2 + 2 together.
I've my doubts about this letter. If it was actually from Bailiffs then surely they would had got the car record from DVLA systems which would have your home address against your car.
