Not to submit the confirmation statement?

Good morning all

I hope you're well and had a lovely weekend.

I suffer from long term mental health my apologies in advance if I take too long to reply.

I have a limited company that I no longer use. Due to mental health I haven't been working and told my accountant that I no longer need their services but kept charging me.

Now I owe them over a grand I am not in the position to pay despite informing them my health wasn't great and not working.

My accounts are overdue and there's already a compulsory strike and the confirmation statement is due. I've heard if you don't submit the confirmation statement you can get fined for up to £5000.

But also if you don't submit your company can still get strikes, shall I just wait for the company to be struck off the register?

Thanks in advance

The amount owed to the accountants, is this owed by the Limited Company I presume? It's addressed to the company and you're just a Director of it?

If yes, your company owes the accountants money, you do not.

Someone else will be along shortly, with professional advice but don't stress yourself out too much.

Does the limited company owe any other sums? HMRC? Loans? Anything like that?

I didn't use any business credit but maybe there will be HMRC fines to pay for late filing of the accounts.

Thank you for your help. I'm very grateful.

Hi @baldanbankrupt

Given your circumstances it does not appear that you have much choice but to let the compulsory strike off proceed, which could resolve these matters for you.

There is a technical risk for a company director if you do not file accounts or confirmation statements - further information is here

Thanks.
Thank you Mr Wessely.
