If you are genuinely interested in this topic, I would recommend you get hold of a book called "Bad Science" by Ben Goldacre before you do anymore reading on the internet or watch any more TV programs. It teaches you how to understand when pseudo scientists are talking BS. One of the best books I have read in my life.
Like asking the Pope to read "God is not Great" by Hitchens.

Prove it!!!
The burden of proof is always on the person making the claim. 'Dr' Shinya wrote a book but has failed to back up any of his claims with clinical evidence.

I don't know anything about this but I depend on expert openion. Dr H Shinya clearly states because of deep breathing like abdominal breathing more oxygen goes into our blood. This causes our temperature to rise. A body with a higher temperature can generate more and better quality enzymes including immune enzymes, which lead to a healthier state.
You cannot raise your body temperature in the way you describe. The human body is fantastic at regulating temperature for all its biological needs and this temperature is around 36.8°C. If you increase that temperature even a few degrees, the proteins in the brain start to denature, causing brain damage (IIRC it's like 43 or 44°C).

Even school children understand that this is why they sweat - because their body is too hot.

I have seen this from my experience. Last week I had a severe sore throat and was planning to go to emergency service of Newham Universtiy. It was early morning and I was reading 'The enzyme factor 2' of Dr H Shinya. I came across the advice of abdominal breathing. After that I started exercising abdominal breathing. It didn't take too long I felt my throat was healing. Later I forgot sore throat and going to hospital. How do you explain that?
* A person going to A&E for a sore throat.
* A person reading a book about quack medicine and taking it seriously
* A person that thinks a breathing technique can cure either bacterial or viral infection.
* A person forgetting they were going to go to hospital.

Obviously I don't mean you personally, but each of the items on this list can be explained by basic stupidity. :)

Anyway it is impossible for us to have a body free from free radicals but we can stop free radicals cause damages by a healthy diet, moderate physical activity and drinking a lot of water.

So what you are saying is we cant stop free radicals entering our body or being created in our body, but if we eat healthy and exercise we can stop the damage they do?

Eating healthy and exercising has a whole host of health benefits so how do we associate any of the benefit to reducing damage by free radicals? (Especially when exercise produces more free radicals. By exercising we are actually producing more of what you are trying to protect your body from.)

What about the fact that our body needs free radicals to live? Isnt claiming free radicals does us harm and we must reduce them the same as saying our blood causes leukaemia so must get rid of our blood?

When you exercise, your body becomes more active and creates more anti oxidants, enzymes, to neutralise free radicals. So the volume of free radicals doesn't reach to a level to cause harm. It is like one of those heatache tablets. If you take one or two at regular intervals, it will cure you. But if you take too much of it in one go, it will cause liver damage and death. Free radicals must be neutralised at the same speed they are created and enter the body. Otherwise they get accumulated in the cells to cause serious diseases. I think I I have found some thing about their benefits. See bellow:

Benefits of free radicals and other reactive oxygen species

Free radicals and other reactive oxygen species are produced in all living organisms and have biological advantage. Evidences from multitude researches on free radicals and reactive oxygen species suggest that they play important roles in signal transduction, sensing of oxygen tension and regulation of functions controlled by oxygen concentration. They are essential in synthesis of energy and essential molecules. They are also involved in boosting our immune system.

Synthesis of free-radicals in our body is higher during intensive physical exercise and with certain diseases such as diabetes.

Side effects of free radicals and reactive oxygen species

When free radicals and other reactive oxygen species accumulate in the body they cause damage on cells, DNA, lipid, sugar, andprotein. The damage caused by free radicals and reactive oxygen species, in plants and animals, could lead deterioration of foods, cell membrane dysfunction, protein modification, enzyme inactivation, break of DNA strands, brain damage and dementia. Free-radical induced oxidative damages may be precursors to aging and diseases such ascancer, heart disease, diabetes mellitus, atherosclerosis, hypertension, sleep apnea, brain damage and dementia related diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease and Parkinson’s disease.

Free radical theory of aging

Free radical theory ofagingstates that oxidative damage induced by free radicals is to large extent the cause to age-related degenerative processes.

Antioxidant, and free radicals and other reactive oxygen species

Antioxidantsare among the variety of defense mechanisms against oxidative stress induced by free radicals. Examples of well studied free radical-scavenger antioxidants arevitamin E,vitamin C,flavonoids, chlorophylland carotenoids. Growing number of researches on the role of antioxidants suggest that there is strong association between high intake of antioxidants and low incidence of diseases linked with free radicals.

Where is the proof that the free radicals generated when exercising does not exceed what we eat, drink or breathe?

It is known that the body needs free radicals in order to work and for us to basically live. You are talking about deliberately manipulating the amount of free radicals consumed by changing diets. Firstly this does not change the free radicals in the 11,000 litres we breath in or the amount we generate internally. Secondly the body generates anti-oxidants in response to the amount of free radicals in your system regardless of the source (food, air or exercise). Thirdly, as free radicals are needed to survive, isn't starving the body of free radicals as dangerous over stocking the body on free radicals.

The limits of what is acceptable in the body are not known and unproven, so how do you know you are not doing more damage than good?

Once again I have to point out that only one doctor is promoting this and he is doing that alongside his book on the subject. The doctor is a top rated medic in Japan (treats royalty etc) yet no one in the scientific, medical or pharmaceutical sectors is following up on his theory. What that equates to is one doctor promoting a book verses millions of doctors and specialists ignoring his theory. There is something in that maths that says following this guy is a waste of time.

Where is your proof? back up your claim like him. He backs up his claim with over 40 years of practical medical experience.

Yes you can raise your temperature over 36.8c without any damage but obviously if you go too far like to 40c you could hurt your body. The main advantage of deep breathing is that your temperature protected to fall to 35c where can can survive. Another davantage it raises your temperature to above normal even if it is a small fraction, which help your body to create more and better enzymes.

* A person going to A&E for a sore throat.

If you had the same sore throat you would have called ambulance for sure. But I was not thinking to do that. I was thinking to walk to the hospital, it was not too far from you. It is not wise when you have a pain like that to ignore it. Really I thought I had sore throat cancer. I had never had this pain in my life.

The proof of puding is in eating. Abdominal breathing relieved my very painful sore throat, that was a fact. Obviously because my sore throat stopped I didn't feel necessary for me to go to hospital. So I forgot it. What is stupid about that?

But as I keep saying, he is one doctor selling books. He has an excellent reputation treating high profile people yet the whole scientific, medical and pharmaceutical industries are ignoring his theory. That is millions and millions of highly qualified people from all around the world looking at his theories and ignoring it. I would say is 40 years experience is being out weighed by millions of years of professional experience

Excell Expert,

What have done to your last post?

Well he is in the business of prevention first and then curing. He has a wealth of medical and health knowledge and wants to pass it to the public. The art of selling is the art of survival. People of his class has to do so to get richer and remain in public domain otherwise their future becomes uncertain, they are the prisoner of their social and professional statrues. Just look at the Conservative Conference to see what they are doing to sell themselves. I think they have already made me better off by around £50.00/week.

Please come down to the real world. He is in the business of prevention against the interests of the whole scientific, medical and pharmaceutical industries. Off course they ignore him but they don't dare to challenge him. I think he works in Japan for two or three months a year. The rest of the time he works in America. He is more famous in America than in Japan. For his patients, he is the first, the last and the only doctor. Now in America because of his contribution when it comes to breast cancer check they do colon check as a procedure against breast cancer.

Don't know what to my last post Swisaw - I think the quote function threw a wobbly.

His theory, if right would not just have people eating better it would have doctors, scientists and pharmaceutical companies trying to invent treatments and therapies based on his claims. This would make them money rather than losing it.

Going by your statement you would have to believe that every doctor, scientist and chemist on the planet is not interested in advancing medicine and they are only in it for the money. That simply is not true. The anti-aging cosmetics market only is phenomenally huge on its own. Imagine how much money a treatment for Alzheimer's disease would make a pharmaceutical company.

What about Universities? Do they have an interest in selling cures rather than finding prevention methods?

To suggest that all these people are ignoring him because they want to make cures rather than prevent does not stack up.

I'm done trying to discuss this reasonably with you so you can see the flaws in your belief in this man, but it's kinda fun to keep pointing out the nonsense and it's of benefit in case anyone else might think even a single thing you're saying is true.

Well he is in the business of prevention first and then curing.
No, he's just in business. He sells unproven quackery to gullible idiots for lots of money. Completely unproven. No science, no clinical trials, nothing. He's a fraudster, plain and simple.

Off course they ignore him but they don't dare to challenge him.
They don't 'challenge' him because there's nothing to challenge. If he ran clinical studies to disprove mainstream medical science, *then* they'd be interested in his claims. However he's just another nut-job pushing supplements and selling books for idiots, so they simply don't care.

Now in America because of his contribution when it comes to breast cancer check they do colon check as a procedure against breast cancer.
No they don't. This is not a standard procedure at all. This is a lie.

To be fair I don't think he is a nut job. Doing some digging on him and he has several innovations to his name and he was at a level where he was treating royalty and primeminsters etc. However he has now retired and he now has a million selling book to his name, which is where I think we find his true motivation.

A million selling book, TV interviews etc I suspect he has earned more during his retirement than he has as a working doctor.

So while Swisaw is questioning the motivation of the pharmaceutical, medical and scientific sectors I would have to question this doctors motivation. He kind of reminds me of those regular doctors you used to get on TV-AM - they all got carried away with the fame element and medicine took second place.

I use the phrase loosely and have not dismissed his genuine contributions to medical science in his earlier career. Unfortunately what he's pushing at this point is completely unproven and potentially harmful (when people put more faith in remedies than medicine) so he's either a retired doctor that believes his own experience is greater than medical science (i.e. a nut-job) or a malicious fraud out to take money at the expense of people's health (i.e. a nut-job), or a mix of the two (i.e. a nut-job).
