I’m an anomaly. Rarely look at the forum on my desktop, I use my phone. Which means I don’t see all the new shiny.

Is the black standard for everyone?

As an aside, Google penalises sites with poor accessibility. White and grey on black fails all sorts of tests.

A dark theme works much better for me. Almost everyone I know uses a dark theme.

I'm looking at mobile-friendly solutions but the sidebar was a quick win for desktop.

No, dark mode is an option rather than the default. We're aware of the styling issues with dark mode. There are currently very few users actively using dark mode, we've tabled time to reassess the styling as soon as we can.

I use Dark Reader on Chrome - works quite well, much easier on the eyes IMO (though it screws up Google Analytics).

If you're seeing a list of recent articles titled "Latest articles" then you're seeing what you're supposed to

If you're talking about the yellow outline, that was something I did to draw people's attention to it.
