Next day delivery

I have been using Hermes for my deliveries for the past few months mainly down to cost as I offer free delivery which has increased sales

it's now becoming more common that deliveries are delivered after more than 5 working days sometimes 10+ or lost by the delivery driver or 'address not on Hermes system' which delays deliveries further

I am looking to change now as it's becoming a daily headache to resolve every issue with Hermes

I currently send out between 150-300 parcels per week all small parcels below 1kg

I was thinking of switching to DPD , does anybody know if it's possible to get next day for under £5 based on my amounts

If not can anybody recommend a reliable next day courier?

Your local APC depot should offer next day delivery below £4 for up to 1kg.

Interlink who are part of the same company as DPD and i believe use the same infrastructure tend to be a bit cheaper DPD you could use their express pack to save money if DPD prove to be too expensive. For below 1kg we use Royal Mail you could send it 1st class (24) and tracked fro that price. With a lot of couriers look close at the add-ons such as Fuel surcharge, admin fee and delivering to the top of Scotland and Northern Ireland. We find Royal Mail have an almost perfect delivery record with us. The biggest problem seems to be the customers not filling their address in correctly.

I have just contacted both APC & Interlink , Are they both regarding as the best 'affordable' next day couriers?

To start my Friday off I have received more issues from customers with Hermes ....my new favourite is 'parcel left in secure location'

Interlink/DPD are the market leaders by far in terms of Customer Service (to your customer). Tracking is excellent, 1 hour delivery slots etc. They won't be the cheapest, but they will be the best. Depends on what your priorities are.

Under 1kg use Royal Mail (get an online business account and use PPI). Will cost about £2.70 per packet for Royal Mail 24 hour.

vert, very few of our parcels go missing, it's easy for the customer to collect if they miss the post.
