I friend has just dropped down the recording of the MotoGP that I missed on Sunday due to doing BikeKraft at Silverstone!

Jim, you have one of the best looking motorcycle trainers websites I've seen but yes your prices page needs some content - like prices

On a related note, I'm looking at doing my IAM but have heard good things about RoSPA which I see you train on. What is the pro's and con's of each?

Hi Jim,

Welcome to the forum. Something a little different.

I have done a deal with my wife that if I lose enough weight, I can have a bike again. I am afraid that I was not into real motorbikes as I rode a Beemer (K75RT 750) last time (around 6 years ago) I was doing regular commuting (around M25, behind Heathrow to Hayes... ah! those were the days).

I recognise that I will need to retrain. Your site has some useful information. Took me a while to find out where you are based though.

I got fed up of people telling me I was not a biker et al because I had a beemer rather than a real bike. I have ridden fireblades, goldwings, etc. in the past but that was my most recent experience. I was pleased to see beemers used on the recent Charlie Walker / Ewen McGregor The Long Trail tv programme - must buy the DVD as the series was so interesting.

This forum is very helpful, you can spend hours reading some good advice.
and it's nice to see bikers on it, for a while I thought Ozzy & Phil were the only ones!!!

Thanks for the replies.

Firstly, the prices page is supposed to be a downloadable .pdf (it used to be fixed in html) so that amendments to prices & terms could be easier - but the .pdf doesn't want to upload :cry: I do want to add a links page at some point as well.

'Real bike' - when people make comments like that it makes me wonder if they feel they have something to prove about themselves. I was told the same thing as I didn't have a Harley.

I prefer RoSPA over IAM for two main reasons; you are graded within your ride (unofficially RoSPA silver is seen as equivalent to IAM pass) and you are retested to ensure your riding is kept up to standard (whereas IAM is similar to L test; once its done its there for life - unless you do something naughty). In the IAM favour it is more commonly recognised by insurance companies when offering discounts.

I should add that IAM is maybe more accessible to most as well; both demand a reasonable/high knowledge of Police Roadcraft
