hello everyone, my name is Daniel and i live in the East midlands, i am currently a student studying my A-levels, which are business studies, ICT, maths.

I joined this forum as i have great interest in the world of business and feel as though it will be the right career path for me. i have a great desire to gain knowledge about many aspects of business, including the financial and management side of business, as i believe it to be one of the most crucial.
By joining this forum i hope to gain further insight, and to improve my understanding of business, for the future.

I have recently taken many books out from the local library related to small businesses and operations, and will start making notes soon.

I was wondering, that due to my inexperience in the field, how budding entrepreneurs go about preliminary research, and is there anything else i could do to be prepared

responses, would be much appreciated
daniel

Hi, daniel, and welcome to the forum!

My answer to your question about research is to use the books for the theory and talk to people to gain an idea of the 'practice'! Do you know anyone who runs a business? (or your parents or parents' friends?). Also, refer to sites such as business link - tell you about the 'actual' setting up in business rather than about business models.

Good to see that you are doing maths as well - a good grasp of the finance side of the business is (in my opinion) essential. :)
