Have you thought about exporting to other countries? I'm Brazilian and I can see you selling loads of your device in Brazil

Definitely. I'm in talks with an organisation in India at the moment. It's exclusive to Android due to restrictions Apple have with sending automatic texts, so I imagine the majority of my customers will come from EU Countries and beyond, where over 70% are Android users.

Selling in Brazil would be great, I'd obviously have to use it as an excuse to visit photograph people using it ;)

    Looking at all this excitement, a simple question

    What protection do you have? are there any patentable parts of the design

    Basically as you have little money you say over what you have invested whats to stop China copying the design even smaller and far lower prices

    I would suggest you forget after the first few about manufacturing them and look to licence production with one of the mobile attachment companies

    Interesting concept.

    Sounds like it is building on the safety button system that is already on the market aimed at older people and people with disabilities so they can alert people if they are ill, have a fall or are in danger.

    The biggest problem I can see with this product is that you have to remember to put it on every time you go out and that will mean swopping it onto what coat or jacket you are using that day or whichever handbag or briefcase.

    What feedback did you get when you market tested your product with your target audience. Didn't this come up with an issue?

    By the way hope you have trademarked your brand name.

    This is a cracking idea -- well done. I would approach the trade press in every target industry with a short press release. You've got a genuinely newsworthy product here which is priced reasonably and can help their readership -- B2B journalists will no doubt be interested.

    What's a Business 2 business journalist?

    The best journalists to approach for a story like this would either be consumer or tech journalists. And the news desks at trade media in the sectors he wants to target.

    If you write for an industry publication, you're a B2B journalist. You work in B2B publishing as a journalist. Does that make sense?

    He can approach the editorial teams at Property Week and Estates Gazette, which are publications both read by estate agents, for example.

    Not really, as I worked in the trade magazine market for 12 years and I have never heard it called that.

    A journalist who writes for trade mags is called a trade journalist, or a 'building trade journalist' or whatever his specialisation happens to be.

    Are you selling on Amazon? It just there is one for $25 or so listed that states it automatically notifies friends and family by sending urgent text messages and or calls to up to 3 contacts with GPS Location. I' curious as to whether you knew you have competition selling at half the price?

    I am sure the OP would have done his market research before launching his product. It's not necessarily bad to have competitors - shows there is a market for the product, he just needs to demonstrate through his marketing and advertising, the key benefits of his products, which mean people should pay more for a premium brand.

    I too have worked in B2B media for years and I never offended anyone by calling them a B2B Journalist. Arguing over terms like this is just nitpicking and it's irrelevant to the question.

    We aren't arguing with you. Just explaining that as former journalists, it's not a term we are familiar with.

    It is relevant to the OP if he wants to approach his target media and gets through to a news desk and asks for a B2B journalist, they won't know what he's talking about. Not the best start to pitching a story :)

    Perhaps when you work in advertising and sales for trade media you refer to trade journalists differently. That's why I said. Different folks. Different strokes.

    Anyway nice of you to offer to write a news release for the OP.

    Thanks for your replies everyone. Yes there is competition but my product is superior as you can create as many groups you want in the app and add as many contacts as you want. You can then select a gesture to activate each group, for example - to send to my Family group I click once, to send to my Friends I double click and to send to my Colleagues group I press and hold for 3 seconds.

    I will be looking at the website tomorrow, thanks for the info!

    The product looks and sounds pretty unique.

    I think it could work well as a travel product provided the user had a phone working to transmit last known location from overseas.

    I would rebrand it and target it towards executives and high risk/worth individuals too. For 5 times the price.

    Elderly panic button is also a market.

    I used to sell a product called blue neo 10 years ago it done pretty well but the form factor of this item and it's specific function make it look more interesting.

    Would hate to create false alarms by accident though.
