Wondering if anyone can recommend a good PC as ours is on its last legs! The one we currently have was made up by a computer company rather than a brand. Is there a brand of PC you would recommend.

We use it for e mails, day to day office work like Excel, Word, Sage. We also use photoshop on it for our website images. We also use the internet a lot on it. It is networked to one other PC. We don't need anything really flash in terms of graphics cards but we do need quite a bit of memory as its the main office computer.

Thanks

Rhyl Lightworks

I would always have one made up by a local computer company, so that if it needs any repair/maintenance they are always on hand. I had a Dell many years ago, and when a driver for one of the back up memories was gone I spent many hours on the phone to their helpline in Dublin and they couldn't tell me what the problem was (they may have changed things now, I don't know and have no intention of finding out - because of their incompetence they have lost a potential customer for good). I phoned a friend of mine who knew a thing or two about computers and he diagnosed the problem within half a minute. Since then I have always got a local company to make my computer for me to my spec. and never had a problem.

HP all the way for me

I am now on the DV7 and it is an ace machine for work and play.

My kids are still using my old NX8220 and it runs sweet on my fav OS XPP.

No 2 for me would be HP too

Dell are OK until something goes wrong and their prop parts cost the earth IMHO.

Budget range..Zoomstorm for desktops are wicked value for money and reliable to boot
