New host help.

Hi Everyone,

My hosting on Godaddy runs out on the 27/7/11. And I am looking for a new host.

There are only a few problems.

1) Could someone recommend me a UK based hosting company that is reliable.

2) I have lost all mu username and passwords for Godaddy, will this be a problem?

3) When I change how do I do it? Do I just give the new host the web address?

Thanks in advance.

Vidahost, plus there is other recent threads about hosting.
2) I have lost all mu username and passwords for Godaddy, will this be a problem?
Ask them how you recover them before the 27th July
3) When I change how do I do it? Do I just give the new host the web address?
I think this can be done by the new host but you would need access to your old account. Although they would clarify this.

Thanks in advance.
No problem

I also recommend Vidahost, I use them for my website and 20 websites for my clients are hosted by them. I have 10% off coupon below if you want to save a few £££.

To move your site, you will either need your godaddy login details or ask godaddy to email you a backup of your site.

Vidahost will help you move your site to theirs, Seb and Dom are excellent (Dom is a UKBF member).

www.pacwebhosting.com - click on the testimonials tab to see how reliable and well supported it is!

    UK Hosted

    2) I have lost all mu username and passwords for Godaddy, will this be a problem?

    This may help http://help.godaddy.com/article/8

    Depends on a few factors

PAC will transfer things over for you free of charge simply contact them at [email protected] prior to it and work out a plan of action to move across.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thanks

    Vidahost get recommended alot
Tsohost is also another good host

You will need to recover these with the host before your hosting runs out or you will not be able to move your site over (if you want to start a fresh no it's not a problem)

    3) When I change how do I do it? Do I just give the new host the web address?

to move your domain name you will need to

    A) point your domain at your new host's name servers
    B) move (transfer) your domain to your new host and point it to their servers (should be done automatically by most hosts, but may incure an additional charge for transfering domain which is usually similar to the registration charge, as far as i'm aware only .co.uk domains can be transfered free)
