I am leaving my current employer in a few weeks as the finance manager. My replacement is shadowing me for a few hours this week. The business is having critical cashflow issues. The person coming in is leaving a stable business after after a long career there and will be dropped into a difficult situation. Should I explain to this person the exact nature of what the person will be dealing with bearing in mind they will be handing their notice in next week. I feel a moral obligation to do this.

Are you leaving because it’s struggling?

Clearly you have a concern so maybe you should just show them the figures and let them work it out themselves and make a decision.

The company may be struggling but getting back into a good flow. Perhaps the directors have a contingency plan.
