Hi

I am looking to purchase a computer and a printer for running my e commerce store.

Any recommendations where I can get a good price for a solid long lasting computer.

Regards

These days no computer is solid long lasting computer. They haven't been around since Windows 98 :) Windows 98 never had a problem with the O2, XP came out and computers failed lasting.

I suggest try comet? Recently bought a laptop from there and not had a problem yet (fingers crossed).

I use Misco for our office PC's touch wood no problems yet and prices always seem very good

What you go for will really depend on your budget and if you want a laptop or desktop.

HP are a pretty good brand as are lenovo for laptops and you want a minimum of an i3 processor, ideally an i5 but as above will depend on budget.

Just picked up an HP from Curry's with an AMD Q8, 8 gig of ram and a 2tb hard disk for 349 which is pretty good.

Lenovo Thinkcentre E73 are a good reliable model I find. HP Laserjet Pro 1102 are a good little mono laser too for invoice printing and easy to buy and run.
Since the ecommerce store will most likely be hosted online, anything really will do including second hand. Good offer from @BartJr above, ex-corporate hardware often still has a lot of life left in it. Worth dropping him a PM.

I brought 5 dell computers about 18 months ago, all worked but after a year all running slow with no big software running

Told by a friend about ssd drives in particular Samsung evo 540 so brought some and one installed speed increase was like a new computer flashes up in under 1 min windows7

Noticed when installing the cheap drive racks that were made of such soft steel they easily bent

Also thought about memory increase but found out motherboards would not accept more memory, further investigation found many other more basic computers also unable to take much higher memory, before this just assummed that all compuers could be upvgraded to about 16 gb
