New Computer or Tablet?

Hi All,

My MacBook Pro is still going strong, but I'm tempted for a cheeky upgrade. I'm thinking of leaving my current laptop in the home office linked up, so I don't have to disconnect all the time going to and from offices/meetings.

My question is: Do I upgrade to a newer MacBook Pro or do I try the new iPad Pro? If you have the iPad Pro do you find it integrates well as on the go device with the basic capabilities of a laptop?

On the go, I need to be able to use MS Word, excel and Powerpoint (including presenting). Access files (all on cloud/servers so possible with each) and answer emails.

Hello-Internet

Our team so something similar, we're all Mac book based, and when out meeting clients or away from the office or working weekends we use iPad Pros with Microsoft Word etc etc - works well does the job great - takes a little getting used to but easy enough.

If you have an Apple store near you - go and try the iPad Pro and see if you like it.

Good Luck -

Thanks Hello-Internet,

I've actually managed to figure out a way to use a mouse with an iPad too. So should be able to use like a mini-computer, just wasn't sure how I would feel not having a physical laptop...

Do your team have the 11" or 12.9?

Hey. Common situation. I put in my MacBook Pro 2013 SSD drive, instead of the usual HDD and it came to life. Think about it.

Well, if you can still keep your old Mac and use it at home in case you need to use a PC, then buy an iPad (you can also get a keyboard, which will make it easier to type). But if you're thinking of getting rid of your old PC, then you should buy a new one instead of an iPad.

My office Mac Mini has become agonisingly slow. I can do instant business tasks on my old iphone6 where my Mac takes 30mins each morning just to boot up to a usable state. If I could connect my phone to a keyboard, mouse and monitor I’d be well happy :-(
