New business - needs a website.

Hi

Can anyone help me. I need help with designing and launching a website and have a very small budget. I think I will need 4 pages, and a paypal button to allow clients to buy online. My budget is max £50.00. I know this sounds like a joke, but this not what my budget will be in the future.

Does anyone want to help? I know I am asking a lot, however, I would be prepared to do a 12 month contract at £10 per month for ongoing support.

If the business works out, we can discuss further things at that stage and at the proper prices you would expect as on IT and even maybe more as you will have helped me from the outset.

Potentially, the business is quite big (in fact very big), which I do not wish to discuss on the forum, however, with all the other costs involved at the moment, this is the max budget, I can allocate to it.

The website itself is simple and I will be guided by you on this as to whether we do html or whatever you think best, but please no flash.

I was just about to call a company who advertises on the internet. They design websites at a low price, however, I just remembered this forum. From past experience here, I know that potentially, you have some brilliantly minded people on this forum and if you can see past the silly £50.00 we may have a great future together.

You can get domain for £10 and then £5 every month for Wordpress hosting

I have a website that shows on the first page of google under certain keywords. This needs a link using Dearmweaver to the new site as the products compliment each other and also needs a bit of graphics doing. In addition, as the new company is potentially going to bring in a vast revenue, i need this to be very professional looking.

Overall, i don't have a clue about internet stuff. But thanks for the response.

I would go to themeforest.net and have a look through their site templates which can be had for around £8-£15 then spend the rest on the hosting. A decent host will cost you £25 a year.

Do you have the domain?

In short, £50 is about an hours work for a UK web designer so not many would be able to help out, a 4 page site normally goes for around £300+.

Using a themeforest template means you get a professionally looking website you can afford.

I can + to Themeforest. Some really amazing templates for peanuts. Bought one myself. They sell in volume, hence cheap.

sometimes its better not to have a website at all if its going to look like you have done it yourself? perception is everything.

VP are god damn awful websites like any free web builder IMHO.

If the OP doesn't want to edit the theme then they can look into WordPress, themes are little more but all the op would need to do is add the content in the backend.

I recommend holeinthewallhosting.com as its the cheapest I've found.

Once logged into the control panel find the icon called fantastico and install either joomla or drupal (these are content management systems, they allow you to select a template and just fill the content in) you'll then have your site where you can upload a logo and fill in any content you like. It should take you all of about 15 minutes for a reasonably professional looking site.

If you want I'll happily do it for you if you have the content written, however you can save yourself £50 by following the above instructions.

I used Moonfruit for one of my businesses. A tenner per year for the domain name and about £6 a month for everything else.

Perfectly good, professional looking result and well placed on google after a time.

An absolute piece of cake to build a site on there as well as it is all drag and drop.

i think you can use online blogging platform for this. You only purchase Domain Name and integrate with blogging platform. It is very easy.

budget is my problem too. I started a business with virtually no investment and am slowly building it from the profits I make. So affording a website is difficult for me too. I am looking all over the place for something. Currently looking at Wordpress as a suggested option, but not having any knowledge of modifying a blog to a business, I might find it a bit difficult. The Getting Britain Online/Yola setup looks quite tempting.
I could go to a little more than £50 for a site, but I am definitely floundering
