I have an idea for a new internet business, however I have no idea how to build a website.

I also have no money to get someone to do it for me, however I could give away some equity.

I have no idea how to start this thing up but with the contact I have it will turnover somewhere in the millions.

Dont give any equity away for the sake of a website. Save up and get it done properly and keep all your profit for yourself. Alternatively get a loan to pay off the website designer and use your millions to pay back the bank!

So you know what's coming don't you, 10% of what? You have said you have nothing more than an idea. The best you can hope for is someone to join you 50/50 - your idea v their expertise.

Very true but I have the contacts, and I am negotiable on the equity.

Always start low even if you know you dont have a hope in hell, because you never know

That's one way to go, or be realistic to get the genuine interest is the other.

Yea I suppose you are right, 10% is quite low to start with, 20% - 25% would be the realistic equity that I would want to give away, as in comparison I will be doing 75% of the work.
