New bank account using virtual address

Hi everyone,

So I run my own limited company which is under my home address. If I were to set up another limited company using a virtual address could I create another business bank account using said address?

Would this also work for a sole trader (using a virtual address for a bank account)?

Thanks in advance.

Any business must have a physical address. It can be 'virtual' as in serviced but not, for example a po box

Also, as above banks are required to verify your home address.
In my experience the banks need to know your personal address for any business for verification purpose, however you can have post sent to a business address so in answer to your question.

Yes.
Thanks guys.

I have no problem with the bank knowing my home address as long as Ebay don't know it :D
(not ripping people off or anything. Just selling restricted items that are perfectly legal)

As a limited company you must disclose the registered address on ALL correspondence. Therefore I would think that any paperwork being published via Ebay (delivery notes/invocies etc) would have to show your registered address ie your home address if that is the company registered address.

I don't know how/if E-bay enforce the rules, nor whether you are using 'virtual address' to indicate a PO box, or serviced offices but as per my post - the law says that your business must have - and disclose - a physical address
the virtual address i will use as the official registered address is a physical building where i can get all of my mail diverted.

The EHRC article in the Sunday Times regarding discrimination mentioned that banks could be discriminating against certain individuals by not offering accounts to people with no fixed address.

as for getting a bank account i have had one with barclays for two years so i'm sure my bank manager could help me out as i have business and personal banking with them already.

The only thing i'm not sure of is the annual directors meetings. i suppose i could get a local VO and go sit outside with a sandwich and a coffee and say that was the meeting :D

Yes. So if the companies registered address is the vO then that would be displayed I understand.
