new accounting software

I'm currently using MYOB but looking to change before MAMUT pulls the plug.

Anyone got a recommendation for some accounting software that is easy to use, with good support, that will allow me to do self-invoicing for some of our suppliers, and will support multiple businesses?

thanks

Hi Tracy

Yes I too would suggest looking at Quickbooks.

It would also be a good idea to ask your accountant what they suggest - they may be able to offer training, get the software cheaper, and possibly reduce their fees if you use a package they recommend and are familiar with.

Quickbooks is a pretty good accounting package - definately easy to use and is pretty widely used so a lot of book keepers and accountants are familiar with it.

See http://quickbooks.intuit.co.uk/index.jsp

I would also recommend Quickbooks, I'm still using the 1999 version and it supports self- invoicing, multiple businesses and lots more.

I wouldn't buy it direct from 'Intuit' though, as 'Amazon' and 'BT Shop' are much cheaper.

Hi Decorum

Feel free to look at a posting I have made in a couple of other threads to clarfy Mamut's position regarding the MYOB customers. We are the distributor of the MYOB products in the UK. Like any distributor, we do not control the license agreement for the software nor the license activation process. We do not have the option to continue to sell, support or license the MYOB products beyond the dates determined by MYOB when they decided to leave the UK market.

I appreciate that this is not an ideal situation for you, but wanted to set the record straight that Mamut are not pulling the plus on anyone.....

Best regards
Bryan

We moved from myob (10 years) to mamut for one painful year and now we are on quickbooks which i think is as easy or easier than myob.
Mamut is very long winded, has a long learning curve, is very expensive
because of the subscrition and you will struggle to find a book-keeper, if you do it will cost you to train them and you will be paying them for more hours per week than on other systems.

This is a very old thread to have resurrected:|
