Network rail bosses

Its in the news that the Directors of Network rail are giving there annual bonus to safety improvements - well done chaps (and chapettes possibly!)

I applaud them, honestly - we all say that people such as them should do away with their bonuses especially the Bankers!! but to do something so strategic, productive and well hearted as they are doing is commendable.

But, if it were you or me asked to do that with a our bonus (or profit in out case)

would you? if im honest i dont think i could or would.

however the money they are giving up is still staying in the company.
is it just me who's a little sscepticle about this?

as they are the 'top dogs' surely they can dwindle that money back into their accounts through expences etc.......

It would have been easy for them to just take the money that they're entitled to and once another news story hits the headlines, we all move on. Am pleased there seems to be an open discussion on this and I do hope that good people will be paid well for doing a good job and not just because of their position in the company.

That's actually a quite decent thing to do, at least on paper.

Sure, they could be about to take the money out through back doors dealings anyways, but I try and stop myself being too sceptical these days (despite the overwhelming efforts of high end businessmen to persuade me otherwise).

Any idea how much money we're talking about here?

from what i heard its 60% of their salary - of course what there salaries actually are was not disclosed but im assuming between the 150-200K mark.

hopefully others will follow the same path.

Yup so noble to have to scrape by on a just 560K a year.

Lifes tough on 11 grand a week + expenses.

i feel for them - dont know how they manage
