I am about to start a business in web design and making websites for people, i need a creative name for it!.

My name is David Ashcroft and my partners name who i am going into the business with is Jacqui McDerby, this is just for anyone who would like to include letters or our names in the name they are suggesting.

Please try to have the start letter in the name to be closest to the start of the alphabet as possible for listing in alphabetical order, we don't want to be too far down.

Thanks guys! Your suggestions are much appreciated!!

David.

Thanks for the advise so far.

Jacqui is a rather old fassioned person, and she doesnt really understand how things now appeal to her, her form of a website is writing in size 6 and a few small images, but she runs another 3 businesses so i can change her on that, and i know she has the knowladge and no how to run and promote a business.

But i could do with something, fresh, modern, but....different, hard to explain, i will give the suggested names so far to her and get back to you about them though.

Again, thanks so far for the help!!

David.

If you look at this from a potential customer's point of view then what will appeal / make more sense to them - a name that describes what your business does (ie what you can do for them) or some cutsie combination of names?

Presumably you'll want to check that the domain names exist for any choices in the running as well.... can't have a web design company not owning the domain for it's own name! :)

Daiquiri or similar name fuses will be a difficult name to recall when typing the domain name. Choose something easy to recall, type and say so people get it straight away.

The business name shouldn't be picked cos it sounds nice/good. It should reflect your brand. What does this business stand for - give me 6 buzz words that quickly but accurately describe what kind of business you are. ie dynamic, edgy, solid, reliable, corporate, relaxed, formal, and so on. Doesn't have to be those as they're merely examples. Once you have your buzz words you can start thinking of names that accurately reflect who you are and identifies your brand, this will then come into play when your logo is designed.
