Natural listing by seo or google shopping seo??

I know people would say both...

but if you had to choose, what do you think provides the best results?? (not necessarily traffic)

I am yet to see what is the best result as we are working on both as we speak.

Would be good to see forum members thoughts.

You have to view them as 2 completely seperate channels. By Google shopping I assume you mean merchant center. Its a no brainer getting your products listed... but they do perform better the more your natural SEO improves.

So if you rank on page 1 you will get more traffic to your merchant center products.

There are other factors as well.. eg. the more columns = the more times you get shown.

Natural listings are the most important thing you can do.
Google shopping is just another Comparison website like Nextag / Shopping.com etc albeit a free one.

I mean for a startup business I would use Google shopping for initial traffic and standard google SEO for long term traffic.

I think natural listings are more important too. People currently are not looking as much in shopping results and looking for specific websites that hold the products they are looking for. I think shopping also shows just 2-3 results on the main page and the SEO way shows 10. So, SEO is my choice!

yes, this obviously takes longer to produce, but worth the while.

i would also say natural seo is far more better and brings more traffic.
