My topic a go go

Hello Mods

My topic from the "offers" forum seems to have disappeared. I am aware that the topic turned into a debate, much to my dismay. Not only did I make a fantastic offer to the members here, which several people have taken up already, but I also offered some sound and genuine advice that can be implemented by anyone.

I have had several of my topics deleted now and I am getting a bit tired of it. As you can image, my topics take a great deal of time to write and there is absolutely no point if they are only going to be up for a matter of hours. I know my posts are appreciated because I get a lot of emails and messages from people here thanking me for them.

If you would like me to stop posting on this forum, then I will do so. It is a shame because I do like it here although there does seem to be a clique that I am clearly not part of. I do feel however that my posts are of great value to those who read them. It is all fully researched, tried and tested marketing methods and business systemisation that can be applied by anyone regardless of business skill and experience.

Regards

Matt, MK Printing

    Hi Matt,
Number of reasons really, the main one being that it was more a discussion than an offer and showed signs of starting to spiral downhill.

As you say yourself, your post was more advisory with an offer dropped in there rather than an offer itself. It stands to reason that a discussion orientated post would lead to discussion, whereas a normal offers post would not.
You could probably benefit from splitting your offers out and posting them in the offer section alone. That way your offer doesn't get lost in the rest of the text and wont encourage anyone else to get involved in what on the face of it seems to be more a discussion starter than an offer.

Reading the post itself, in my opinion it does seem to be more an article suitable for a newsletter than a post or offer appropiate simply posting by itself on these forums (at least for now - more news on that one later).

Since I was the only person who responded (to challenge a provocative statement you made in the middle of a 2,000+ word post), you must be referring to me. Would you mind letting me know to which clique I belong? I'd be interested to know. I'd also like to know who else belongs to this supposed clique, because I'm blissfully unaware of them.

For the record, you made a couple of sweeping statements under the guise of an offer, statements that I found very misleading and could cause someone unnecessary expense. When posting a long message like that, it's hardly surprising that someone might question something you write. If it wasn't me, I'm sure someone else would have done. Isn't that the purpose of a discussion forum - to bring to bear our knowledge and experience to help others and to politely challenge false assertions when appropriate? I did so politely, so I really don't see why I'm suddenly accused of belonging to a clique.

If we belong to a discussion forum, at a minimum we should expect discussions to take place. It's not just a medium for writing long monologues. For the record, I find everyone's posts to be of "great value to those who read them", not just yours.

Hmm..looking to see if there's some other meaning to the word 'clique'. ;)
