Was just wondering, what music genres people on UKBF are into? and what bands/ musicians are everyones favourites?

I am into pretty much everything, and im 16. Although i would say im not really into pop or classical. But thats me, what do you like?

Do you have ipods? and are they full? and do you criticise other music genres?

Alot of questions lol but there you go lol

What's "boy racer"? I like post-rock, which doesn't actually mean it's rock (?!) but instrumental. I do like classical music and hate just random loud music that has a drum playing loud with no concept of music involved at all.

And I do own an iPod, with a superb pair of headphones that make it worth while having one.

I have a wide variety of music that I listen to. I like R&B, Dance, some POP but my favourite is Rock and I suppose Nickleback is my top band at the moment along with stereophonics.

When I was younger I used to go to raves and now I look back and think WTF

Ever the odd-ball, I only like classical music. There's a reason, though.

and what may the reason be?
This is going to sound so toffee-nosed - sorry. From the age of five, I was a piano player and composer. I also played the clarinet and the trumpet. For years, I learned and listened to thousands of classical pieces and, as part of my training, had to learn how to analyse structure. The result is that I can't listen to any music without unconsciously analysing it. Most forms of music are quite simple in structure, and I have a hard time with them.

This probably doesn't make sense, but it's true nonetheless. It's also the reason why I can't listen to music while I work. My mind starts analysing, and I can't get any work done.

A lot of 80's stuff, but also a wide range from bob Dylan to punk rock and anything inbetween - basically anything I like the sound of. My g/f recently got some albums from some band called HIM - I'd not heard of them before but their music is very good, "wings of a butterfly" is well worth a listen to.
