As part of our ongoing strategy to become a comprehensive e-firm we are currently looking into various online solutions to roll out for our staff/associates and strategic partners across the UK. The products we have come across are:

  • MS SharePoint (hosted)
  • MS Exchange (hosted)
  • MS Dynamics CRM

I would like to hear from people that use any of the products mentioned and to hear of any reviews. Any products we use must be accessible via the internet as we are coming away from offline software/hardware to be in line with our various online legal software that can be accessed anytime anywhere as well as being brandable.

We are already aware of two companies that offer the above products, however would like to see any recommendations from UKBF members.

Hi there,

If you are looking at sharepoint as a document management solution, i would also recommend looking at some of the Electronic Document Management solutions on the market, such as Invu (which i provide), Docusoft or Infonic. Most of which will offer what you need. These have better search functions and handle things like compliance very well. (if not then please ignore me!)

I provide on premise MSCRM, however one of my clients adopted the hosted solution from someone else, they found it to be very cost effective, secure against disaster and they had it set up in a matter of days.

Give me a call if you have any questions.

All the best with your search,

Check how it fits in with security policies and information

Leaving data in the cloud [which this is] has its own risks, ensure you have access and resiliency to access your data, etc

I have used, consulted and implement BPOS, G Apps and numerous inline cloud centric solutions in the UK and US and whilst cost is normally the driving factor - data security and accessibility also need to be taken into account

Microsoft hosted services are very good. Eitex are Microsoft BPOS resellers and have set it up for many clients. The rates are very good which makes it a very cost effective solution. Also, there is a level of SPAM filtering with Exchange which works very well indeed.

A tad biased but IMHO SharePoint is the way to go. Be careful of paying too much for implementation / consultancy around setup. There are a number of hosted sharepoint providers out there so shop around.

We have some great info on our knowledge base section which may help.

Best of luck with whatever you choose!
