Moving an 0845 number?

Not sure if this is right forum for this? but I thought it might get more visability.

We have an 0845 number in use with a virtual contact centre. The VCC supplied the 0845 and we would like to retain the number as we have it on a number of printed items.

If we wanted to either bring the call answering in house or transfer it to another answering service, how do we get ‘hold’ of the 0845 number? Obviously I could just ask the current provider, but I don’t want to revel our potential plan to move at this stage until I'm a bit better informed.

You have to first find out if the VCC gain ownership over the number.

I wouldn't be too worried about speaking to them.
They may be very helpful.
