I have a very jaundiced view of giveaways, having spent ££££'s on such stuff in my lifetime . You list it, I will have bought it: mugs, pens, blotters, mouse-mats, USB sticks, digital cameras, paper weights, T shirts, bags, cases, MP3 players - you get the picture ;)

Anyway, here is my take: all your clients are different so make sure you have a range of things to give them.

A good quality cheap pen with your logo on is as good as anything. Make sure it writes well and feels solid. Remember, the values of your brand are on display when you give this stuff away so don't do cheap and nasty - unless that is your brand value:)

USB sticks are always useful but make sure they are at least 4 Gb to be really useful.

I am not keen on givaways to be honest - I never really fell that they are valued enough and from what I have seen, its the sales force and their families that seem to be the biggest recipients! So if you do buy such stuff, keep them under lock and key :D

I've been sent all manner of promotional gumf over the years and the only things I've kept hold of are the mugs (an office can never have too many mugs!) and a nice golf umbrella. Mouse mats and coasters would go straight in the bin.

I would probably keep a UBS stick - but I've never been sent one :(

Not meaning to hijack the OP but can anyone think of something along these promotional giveaway lines (other than brochures/leaflets) that an address label can just be stuck onto and posted, without the need for packaging?
