MOT test failed... sigh.....

damn failed the MOT on my car for the rear discs and a new brake pipe on my nissan almera... The guy quoted me £280 Max

I have no idea on cars is that about right ? or am i getting fleeced?

Rear discs are around £80, plus fitting. Brake pipe, no idea, but about £40 to fit it.

I had this problem with my car seat... the garage (FARMER AUTOCARE), weren't able to weld it back onto the framework, so I had to go elsewhere and pay my MOT test all over again (as you get a reduced cost to resit it at the same garage).

What is the world coming to when an automechanic that can perform MOT tests can't perform the necessary fixes!?

Ouch, know the feeling, we have just put ours through an MOT too. We needed two track rod ends, 1 anti-roll bush? 1 tyre, rear brake pads and one brake caliper. Priced at £380 so think your bill seems a little steep in comparison.

Try getting a few quotes as that does sound a bit steep.

Meh, providing the grub screws come out, changing two discs and a brake line is two hours work MAX. And i'm no mechanic
