Hi, I've got a couple of older Dell servers running Windows Server 2012 comfortably, where the End Of Life is approaching in October this year. The servers will run Windows Server 2019 but possibly not 2022 as that requires TPM. Where's the best place to get a couple of Windows Server 2019 standard these days? My 2012 server software were both full retail versions that came boxed and on a CD. There's a wide selection of prices for 2019 but sometimes hard to tell if the website is legitimate/legal!

    Thanks

    Dan

    Hello
Have a look at Amazon or Ebay too.
Ask for the item to be original and coming with a proper invoice.
Resellers may have a stock of old unsold licenses that they will be very happy to give away at discount.
Also, bear in mind that W2022 license gives you the right to install a W2019 version instead.
As last resource, sadly, it might be cheaper to decommission one or both servers, move to the cloud what can be moved there, and move to a new server with brand new license the services that cannot be moved to the cloud.
Some services can even be replatformed to same physical server, but running Linux, where the purpose is compatible.
There are actually a number of options for you.
If you wish to discuss it further and need professional advice, drop me a direct message.
    Thank you
    Cheers

Thanks, I'll have a look around the bazaars. Trying to stick with physical servers if I can and the ones I've seen seem to be within the realms of what I thought they might be but don;t want to overpay if I can help it!

I'm pretty sure you can find some brand new unused W2019 licenses at discount price with some time.
Anyway you will very likely need to reinstall the operating system, that's why I was also suggesting to move to the cloud what you can.
I very depends on what the servers are doing, and I don't have this information.
    Cheers
